A different kind of quiet time

Classroom-ready audio stories designed for transitions, quiet time, and imagination-building that meet children where they are.

You know this moment

✔️ The energy that needs somewhere to go.

✔️ The twenty minutes after lunch when bodies are restless but the day isn't done.

✔️ You've tried white noise, soft music, and silent reading.

✔️ Some days it works, some days it doesn't.

wonderbefore offers something different: short audio stories (5-10 minutes) that give children a place to go without asking them to sit perfectly still or fall asleep.

These are imaginative journeys in which each child becomes the protagonist, exploring gentle sensory worlds within their own minds.

Active imagining, not passive listening

wonderbefore was made for those in-between moments. The car ride home. The wind-down before nap. The restless twenty minutes when everyone needs a reset.

❌ No screens.
❌ No lessons to absorb.
❌ No overstimulation dressed up as education.

Just a voice, some atmospheric sound, and room for children to feel, make, listen, and wonder.

This makes wonderbefore useful for transitions between activities, arrival and dismissal wind-downs, post-recess settling, indoor recess alternatives, and creative writing prompts.
What did you see? What did you feel?

Episodes run 5-10 minutes. No visuals needed. Works with headphones or played aloud. Appropriate for ages 3-7 and adaptable for older children. No ads, no upsells, no characters demanding attention.

Four Acts of Imagination

Grounded in research

The stories are organized around four developmental themes we call the Four Acts: Feeling (emotional literacy), Making (creative agency), Listening (mindful presence), and Wondering (curiosity and awe). You can choose stories that support what your classroom needs on any given day.

wonderbefore is grounded in neuroscience research about the Default Mode Network, the brain state active during imagination, reflection, and creativity. When children aren't being externally stimulated, this network comes online. Our stories create the conditions for this activation.

You're already doing the hard work of teaching. wonderbefore is a tool that creates space for imagination to do what it does naturally when we give it room.

Children don’t need more content.
They need more room.
wonderbefore makes that room.
